Join the DU team at Maine Needs Annual Community Walk!

The Dirigo Union's Community Engagement Committee has put together a team to participate in Maine Needs annual Community Walk and Race!

When: Saturday May 23rd at 9am

Where: Payson Park and around Back Cove

Cost: $35 for adults/$20 for kids to walk the loop; $45/$25 to do the timed 5k

This walk & race is a fundraiser for the thousands of people throughout Maine that are not just going without sneakers to walk in but also without a support system or hope. Let’s do what we can to change that.

This is a family-friendly event that brings together students, families, local businesses, and community members for a morning of fun, fitness, and fundraising. The event features a 5K run, combined with a 3.5 mile run and 3.5 mile walk. Attendees will also enjoy visiting with local non-profits and event sponsors, face painting for kids, a DJ, Maine Needs merch for sale, coffee, snacks and more! 

All proceeds will go to Maine Needs to help support our mission of providing basic material goods for individuals and families throughout Maine.
