Code of Conduct for Dirigo Union Members

Dirigo Union members are expected to channel their enthusiasm into supporting the Portland Hearts of Pine and maintaining a positive environment at all related events. Members must refrain from any behavior that involves bigotry or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, country of origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or age, as well as sectarianism or inciting violence.

During games and events, members of Dirigo Union and its affiliates are expected to avoid the following:

  • Making derogatory comments or engaging in malicious behavior related to an individual’s race, ethnicity, country of origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religion.
     

  • Bringing or using weapons of any kind.
     

  • Unauthorized use of fireworks and/or smoke grenades.
     

  • Engaging in or facilitating underage drinking.
     

  • Excessive consumption of alcohol at any Dirigo Union or Portland Hearts of Pine events.
     

  • Encouraging or participating in violent actions.
     

  • Compromising the safety of other members, fans (including visiting fans), or the general public.
     

  • Throwing objects onto the field during matches.
     

  • Attempting to enter the field of play during any match.
     

  • Creating a hostile environment through unwelcome sexual advances or inappropriate language/touching.
     

  • Doxing any game official, player, coach (regardless of team), front office staff member, or fellow supporter.
     

  • Committing any act that could damage the reputation of Dirigo Union, its affiliates, or the Portland Hearts of Pine.
     

  • Displaying or promoting political endorsements or imagery in signs, two-poles, or banners.
     

  • Deliberately violating stadium policies in a way that results in the revocation of privileges for Dirigo Union operations.
     

In cases where a Dirigo Union member violates this code of conduct or its intended spirit, the Board reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership or privileges. Those in leadership or privileged positions within the Dirigo Union are held to a higher standard, and all public statements are viewed as representing the organization. Appeals may be considered at the Board’s discretion, with all decisions being final.
